Marketing Team is one of the unique opportunities available exclusively through involvement in NAMA. Students enroll in the marketing team course during the spring semester with our advisor, Sarah Botham, as the instructor. During the course of the semester students put together a complete marketing plan for a product that has not yet been introduced to the market.
The plan includes all aspects of marketing including market analysis, business proposition, action plan, product positioning, public relations, financials, monitoring and measuring as well as logo and promotional material design. The wide variety of tasks required for a complete plan provide the opportunity to have a diverse group of students from a variety of majors be involved in the process.
When the presentation is complete there is an opportunity to present the plan at the National Agri-Marketing competition in April. Six to eight members of the team give a 20 minute presentation of the plan and then answer questions the judges have. Other members of the team run the PowerPoint presentation and are responsible for presenting media folders to the judging panel.
